YEREVAN, January 24. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government has approved today a draft law that sets the size of family and social benefits, as well as the size of urgent payments for 2019. Labor and Social Affairs Minister Zaruhi Batoyan said the size of benefits will remain at the level of 2018.

According to her, as many as 99,900 families in the country are recipients of various monthly benefits, including 26, 799 families, which receive social benefits, and 73,101 families which receive family allowances.

She said Armenia’s 2019 budget provides for 37.7 billion drams for payment of benefits. The draft law sets the basic amount of family allowance at 18,000 drams. Also, for each family member who is under 18 years old, an additional 5,500 drams are to be paid.

The draft law also says that each family member in a family with many children under the age of 18 will be paid 7,000 drams additionally. Families living in high-mountain or border settlements will be paid 6,500 drams additionally for each family member under 18. 

The draft law further stipulates that each family member in large families in high-mountain or border settlements who is under 18 years old will be paid additionally 7,500 drams. At the same time, the size of social benefit is set at 18,000 drams. –0--
