Government to pay for medical rehabilitation of wounded servicemen

The Armenian government has expanded today the list of medical services provided to military personnel.
YEREVAN, December 10. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has expanded today the list of medical services provided to military personnel.
Health Minister Arsen Torosyan noted that at the beginning of the year the mechanism for financing of medical services was changed for the military personnel, rescuers and their family members.
The services were made as part of public medical services because the annual budgets of medical institutions were not limited, however, the letter were to avoid budget deficits at the end of the year.
“However, that mechanism did not provide for medical assistance in the rehabilitation of military personnel who were injured during the hostilities. Under the changes this kind of services are placed in the field of open contracts, so that there are no refusals and restrictions on competition, so that any medical institution that has the appropriate capability can provide rehabilitation services and there are no queuing problems,” Torosyan said.
For his part, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that the state bears the expenses for the rehabilitation treatment of military personnel who participated in hostilities, and does not link the services with a specific medical institution.
'In fact, all the servicemen who need rehabilitation treatment can choose a medical center of their choice and the government will pay the treatment cost,” Pashinyan said. -0-
