Influenza A virus subtype H3 spreading in Armenia

YEREVAN, December 21. /ARKA/. The influenza A virus subtype H3 is spreading in Armenia, which in some cases has an acute course, Yevgenia Khachatryan, epidemiologist at the Department of Infectious and Non-Infectious Diseases f the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, said today.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Health, the symptoms of this flu are similar to those of acute respiratory diseases: runny nose, sore throat, muscle aches, headache. The disease may be accompanied by a fever.
For prevention purposes, it is recommended to ventilate the room frequently, disinfect hands, and follow anti-epidemiological norms.
Khachatryan also noted that an important preventive measure is wearing a face mask. It is important to be vaccinated to prevent influenza. Khachatryan stressed that flu vaccines are available at all clinics in the country. -0-
