Level of Sevan may rise by 24-29 cm by July 1 – Armenian Hydrometeorological Service

YEREVAN, April 4. /ARKA/. The water level in Lake Sevan is expected to rise by 24-29 cm from April 1 to July 1, 2025, said Levon Azizyan, director of the Hydrometeorology and Monitoring Center.
"This is about 13 cm lower than last year. Last year, the lake's water level rose by 42 cm," he said at a press conference on Friday.
About Lake Sevan
Lake Sevan is the primary source of drinking water in the region and one of the largest high-altitude lakes in Europe and Asia. It is located in the heart of the Armenian Highlands, at an elevation of 1914 meters. The lake stretches more than 70 kilometers from northwest to southeast, and its water surface area covers nearly 1,500 square kilometers. The lake has only one outlet – the Razdan River (a tributary of the Araks) – and 28 rivers flow into it, with a combined basin area of 2,776 square kilometers.
