Little drop in temperature expected later this week across Armenia

Armenia's Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center said the fire risk will be high on August 16-19 in the capital city Yerevan, as well as in the Ararat Valley, in the foothills of Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor provinces as well as in the Syunik and Tavush valleys.

YEREVAN, August 16. /ARKA/. Armenia's Hydrometeorological and Monitoring Center said the fire risk will be high on August 16-19 in the capital city Yerevan, as well as in the Ararat Valley, in the foothills of Aragatsotn, Kotayk and Vayots Dzor provinces as well as in the Syunik and Tavush valleys.

It also reported that no precipitation is expected across the country on August 16-17. Short rains are possible on August 18 and August 20 in some parts of the country in the afternoon.

The wind is southwest with gusts up to 2-3 m/s. In the foothills of Aragatsotn and Kotayk, as well as in Armavir the wind speed may accelerate to 10-15 m/s in the evenings of August 16-17 and on August 18-19.

Temperatures on August 18-20 will gradually decrease by 3-5 C. In Lori, Tavush, Syunik and Artsakh - by 6-8 C.

No precipitation is expected in Yerevan in the next five days. The temperature on Wednesday will be 35-37 degrees Celsius. On Sunday it is expected to fall to 32-34 degrees. -0-
