The minimum salary in Armenia will rise by AMD 5,000 to AMD 55,000 in 2015, Armenian Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan said Thursday at a regular Cabinet session.

YEREVAN, September 25. /ARKA/. The minimum salary in Armenia will rise by AMD 5,000 to AMD 55,000 in 2015, Armenian Labor and Social Affairs Minister Artem Asatryan said Thursday at a regular Cabinet session.
Appropriate amendments were upheld today at the session and then sent to the National Assembly.
The minister said that the minimum salary is planned to be raised on July 1, 2015.
Deputy Finance Minister Pavel Safaryan, on his side, said that additional budget spending is implied for the increase.
In particular, in 2014 the government had extra revenue in its budget, saved some funds and didn’t implement some programs, and thanks to this, additional AMD 126 billion appeared in the budget. Of this amount, AMD 41.6 billion will be allocated for raising salaries to public sector’s employees.
“State officials had their salaries increased on July 1, 2014, and AMD 38 billion will be allocated from the budget in 2015 for this purpose,” Safaryan said.
According to the government’s 2014-2017 program, the minimal salary in Armenia will be increased to AMD 65,000. ($1 – AMD 406.8). ---0----
