More than one billion dram worth investment program to be implemented in Gegharkunik

YEREVAN, June 18. /ARKA/. Armenia's acting economy minister Vahan Kerobyan and the head of the Dar Regional Development and Competitiveness Foundation Margarita Gorgyan signed on June 17 a memorandum of understanding.

According to the memorandum, the Foundation is to implement a sustainable development model program for the communities of Geghamavan, Ddmashen, Zovaber, Tsaghkunk, Gagarin and Varser in Gegharkunik province. The program is a public-private partnership.

Some 1.160 billion drams are to be channeled into the implementation of the program that will focus on creating a competitive educational ecosystem, high-quality living environment and sustainable economic development.

The program is to produce a quality education, a healthy lifestyle, a safe environment, promote sustainable and innovative economic development, an effective, accountable, transparent and inclusive community management system.

According to the memorandum, the ministry of economy is obliged to initiate or support issues related to the construction or modernization of the infrastructure required for the implementation of the program.
