YEREVAN, December 13. /ARKA/. The nepotism-based tradition of personnel hiring is gradually dying out in Armenia, a representative of Penta consulting company Karen Sargsyan said today. In his words, business leaders are beginning to realize the importance of their investments and will not take the risk by hiring a friend or relative for the position they are not fit for.
Speaking to journalists, he said there are exceptions to these new rules, but they are positions not essential to the company, while top managers are selected from experienced professionals only
In his opinion, very few human resources departments in Armenian companies meet international standards. According to him, today Armenian companies’ spending on staff development is very scarce, reflected in bonuses and salary increments.
In turn, a conflict management and development expert Friedrich Glasl said that the Western experience shows that successful companies spent about 4% of their turnover on personnel training. -0-
