New defendants appear in security dream case in Armenia

Information about complicity of another co-founder of Security Dream LLC in the abuses fond out at the company and also a former head of Еllips GA Company has been received as part of the investigation into a fraud case, the press office of the Investigative Committee reported on Thursday. It was decided to arrest them.

In recent days, law enforcement officers arrested Armen Khanamiryan, the chief accountant at Security Dream LLC, Alik Zakaryan, one of the company's owners, and Sahakanush Sahakyan, accountant at Еllips GA. They are charged with gross fraud, forgery of papers, stamps, forms and national number plates for cars.
The investigators asked court for a detention warrant and received it.
It was reported earlier that the Armenian Police Department's anti-corruption agency has found out fraud and other offences committed by Security Dream LLC leadership.
It has become known thanks to the investigation that contracts were signed between the company and the traffic police in 2011, 2013 and 2017 on purchase of traffic control facilities and provision of other services.
According to preliminary information, Security Dreams, on its part, signed a contract with Еllips GA for pocketing the financial resources allocated. In particular, false acts on allegedly provided services were submitted to the traffic police.
As a result, Security Dream and Еllips GA has received AMD 1 billion (USD 2,073,828) from the government budget.
It has become known in March 2019 that Security Dream embezzled AMD 43 million (USD 81,000) every month from the AMD 70 million (USD 143,000)the traffic police provided to the company from the government budget.
