No shortage of textbooks in Armenian schools, says minister
YEREVAN, January 7. /ARKA/. Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Zhanna Andreasyan announced at a press conference on Wednesday that Armenian schools are not facing a shortage of textbooks.
She addressed the issue of needing to photocopy certain materials, clarifying that this likely pertains to subjects taught in modules rather than the textbooks themselves.
The minister highlighted that all textbooks chosen through the competitive process were printed and delivered to schools by September 1, in the amounts requested by the institutions.
According to media reports, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sport Araksiya Svadjyan mentioned in August 2025 that there was a lack of textbooks for specific subjects in some grades.
She also noted that some high school courses would continue to use outdated textbooks, and schools have been provided with relevant circulars to modify the content of these old textbooks to meet the new standards.-0-
