Ombudsman of Armenia will have two deputies

By the decree of the Ombudsman of Armenia Karen Andreasyan, Ashot Vahanyan is appointed as the first deputy Ombudsman, and Genya Petrosyan – deputy of the Ombudsman, press-service of Ombudsman’s office on Wednesday informed to ARKA News Agency.
YEREVAN, February 1. /ARKA/. By the decree of the Ombudsman of Armenia Karen Andreasyan, Ashot Vahanyan is appointed as the first deputy Ombudsman, and Genya Petrosyan – deputy of the Ombudsman, press-service of Ombudsman’s office on Wednesday informed to ARKA News Agency.
According to the press-release, re-introduction of the institute of Ombudsman’s deputies is conditioned by the increase of activities of Ombudsman’s office and its staff.
“Additional funds are allocated from state budget for the positions of deputies. Changes are implemented solely through the efficient allocation of the existing funds”, states the message.
Ashot Vahanyan in 1996-2001 has occupied the position of the head of legal department of Armenian Defense Ministry, then he worked as the advisor of the head of CBA on legal issues. From 2008 Vahanyan occupied the post of the head of state-legal department of the Armenian government. Prior to his appointment to the position of Ombudsman’s deputy he was the head of staff of Ombudsman’s office.
Genya Petrosyan prior to her appointment to the position of Ombudsman’s deputy was the deputy head of staff of Ombudsman’s office. Petrosyan has been working in the Ombudsman’s office since the time of the first Ombudsman of Armenia.--0--
