YEREVAN, February 7. /ARKA/. Only 25% of Armenia’s water reservoirs are filled completely, Arsen Harutyunyan, chairman of the State Water Committee, said Tuesday at a news conference.
In his words, water dwindled by 75 cubic meters now, compared with the previous year because it was a dry year.
“In particular, Akhuryan Water Reservoir is now filled with 56 million cubic meter less water than one year earlier,” Harutyunyan said.
“In 2017, we knew that there is snow in mountains, which will melt and fill water reservoirs, while now snow reserves in mountains are scant as well.”
Armenia has 80 water reservoirs of total capacity of 1.1 billion cubic meters. -0---
