Russian medics to arrive in Armenia to help Armenian peers in fighting Covid-19

A charter flight operated by Russian Red Wings airline is bringing to Armenia today a team of medics to help their Armenian peers in the fight against the coronavirus infection, the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation reported.

YEREVAN, June 21. /ARKA/. A charter flight operated by Russian Red Wings airline is bringing to Armenia today a team of medics to help their Armenian peers in the fight against the coronavirus infection, the Armenian Embassy in the Russian Federation reported.
It said the aircraft will bring to Yerevan also a group of young Armenian nationals who are to have their compulsory military service and members of their families, as well as a group of Armenian citizens wishing to come back to homeland.
A 30-day state of emergency to curb the spread of coronavirus was declared in Armenia on March 16 and restrictions were imposed on free movement of citizens. The government banned also some types of economic activity.
On April 13, the government extended the state of emergency for another month and on May 4 it lifted the ban on almost all types of economic activity and the free movement of citizens, except for public transport. On May 14, the government has again extended the state of emergency for another 30 days.
However, despite the extension, public transport, preschools, trading centers, restaurants and gyms have reopened starting from May 18, and wearing of masks has become mandatory in public spaces.
On June 12, the government has extended the state of emergency for another month- until July 13.
Armenia's confirmed cases of coronavirus have grown by 560 over the past 24 hours to 20,268, the Ministry of Health reported.
It said eighteen people have died from coronavirus. So, far, the death tall from the infection is 350. A total of 95,754 coronavirus tests have been performed, 9,002 patients have recovered and another 10,802 patients continue treatment. -0-
