Sixty-six percent of some 2,300 school teachers in Armenia who applied for certification will receive pay raises, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan told a government meeting on Thursday.
YEREVAN, October 27. /ARKA/.Sixty-six percent of some 2,300 school teachers in Armenia who applied for certification will receive pay raises, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Vahram Dumanyan told a government meeting on Thursday.
"The results of this year are as follows: a total of 2/3 of teachers passed certification. Some 23% of teachers received a 30% raise, 17% a 40% raise and 6% a 50% raise," Dumanyan said.
According to him, 29,441 teachers could become the beneficiaries of this program.
Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan called the salaries of teachers and educators 'ludicrous'. He said that the certified teachers should be able to get higher salaries. -0-
