Some 100,000 Armenian citizens have dual citizenship

About 100,000 Armenian citizens residing in the Republic of Armenia have dual citizenship, Deputy Chief of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan told reporters today.

YEREVAN, October 25. /ARKA/. About 100,000 Armenian citizens residing in the Republic of Armenia have dual citizenship, Deputy Chief of Police Vardan Yeghiazaryan told reporters today.
He said the police have data about 95,839 Armenian citizens with dual citizenship and their number has increased over the past two months, as in August, there were 94,050 of them.
"Basically, these are our citizens who have received also Russian citizenship, but according to our data, about 70-80% of them reside in the territory of Armenia", - said Yeghiazaryan.
According to him, they use their second citizenship only to address various issues, including social. -0-
