Some 200,000 citizens of Armenia will have their salaries and their income increased in 2020, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said Monday at the discussion of the government budget at the National Assembly's standing committees. In his words, the government expects the country's economy to rally and social level to increase in 2020 as a result of the amendment of the Tax Code. The amended code comes into force in January 2020.
Nikol Pashinyan said that some salaries will rise 10%, on average. He said the lump-sum baby birth benefit will be increased to AMD 300,000 on July 1, 2020 from the present AMD 50,000 and AMD 150,000 for second and third babies. The monthly up-to-two-year-old baby care benefit, he said, will be increased as well - from the present AMD 18,000 to AMD 25,200. The premier also said that there will be also programs that can increase the birth rate in the country. It is already decided to increase salaries in a number of provinces.
Teachers already have their salaries increased by 10%, law enforcement officers 10%, rescuers 30%, on average and forest wards by AMD 20,000. ($1 – AMD 475.97). -0---
