Some 7,104 people died in Armenia in January-March 2024, which is 4.9% more than in the same time span of 2023, the National Statistical Committee said

YEREVAN, May 7 /ARKA/. Some 7,104 people died in Armenia in January-March 2024, which is 4.9% more than in the same time span of 2023, the National Statistical Committee said
More than half of the people (55.9% or 3,972 people) died of diseases of the circulatory system. This is 6.5% more than in the same period of 2023.
The second largest cause of death were cancer diseases (18.3% or 1,299 people, an increase of 4.1%).
Other causes of death were respiratory diseases (10.2% or 726 people, up 6.9%), digestive diseases (5.2% or 372 people, up 10.1%), external causes of morbidity and mortality (3.4% or 239 people, down 4.8%) and endocrine system diseases (1.7% or 120 people, up 0.8%). -0-
