Temperatures to drop across Armenia this week

The Vanadzor-Dilijan and Vanadzor-Alaverdi roads as well as the Stepanavan turns in the Lori region are dangerous for trucks with trailers.
Sections of the road from Saravan to Zanger and from Gndevaz to Jermuk in Vayots Dzor region are dangerous for trucks, the ministry warned.
Roads in Dilijan and Ijevan in Tavush region, roads in the highland areas in Syunik region, as well as all highways in Lori and Gegharkunik regions are icy. It is snowing now in Kapan and Meghri in Syunik region and snowstorm are in Ashotsk and Artik regions of Shirak region.
According to the National Weather Service, snowfalls are expected in most of the country and in the capital Yerevan on March 18-20. Snow is also expected on March 16 and 17 in the evening hours in some parts of the country.
The north-western winds with gusts up to 3-7 m/s are predicted on March 19-20. In some areas winds may speed up to 14-17 m/s. The temperatures on March 16-17 will gradually drop by 6-9 degrees.
On Thursday overnight the thermometer in Shirak region will drop to 17-21 degrees below zero. In Lori region, as well as in the mountains of Aragatsotn and Vayots Dzor the temperature will decrease up to 15-20 degrees below zero.
In Yerevan on Wednesday afternoon, the air will warm up to 2-4 degrees above zero, while in the next four days the thermometer will fluctuate within 2-6 degrees above zero. On March 17 overnight the temperatures in the capital may drop to 6-8 degrees below zero. -0-
