The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UIEA) has called on law-enforcement authorities today to change the measure of restriction against a well-known businesswoman Gohar Yenokyan.

YEREVAN, May 5. / ARKA /. The Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Armenia (UIEA) has called on law-enforcement authorities today to change the measure of restriction against a well-known businesswoman Gohar Yenokyan.
The Special Investigation Service has officially confirmed today the detention of Gohar Yenokyan, a former member of the Armenian parliament and a well-known businesswoman. Earlier reports in the Armenian media alleged she was detained on suspicion of plotting the assassination of a parliament member Karo Karapetyan.
"Without trying to interfere into the powers of law enforcement agencies, we ask the law-enforcement authorities to take into account Ms. Yenokyan’s merits both in economic and political life of the country, her age, state of health and change the measure of restriction against her," the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs said in a statement.
It also expressed hope that the investigation into this case will be objective and unbiased, saying also it will be following its progress.-0-
