YEREVAN, March 20. /ARKA/. A Ukrainian airline will organize a charter flight on March 25 to fly citizens of Armenia to their homeland from the Kiev airport, the press service of the Armenian government said today.
It said the flight will bring Armenian citizens and members of their families, as well as persons legally residing in the country. They will be allowed to enter the country without restrictions, it said.
The government said upon their arrival all the persons will undergo an intensive examination procedure and, if necessary, will be hospitalized, isolated or ordered to self-isolate. Armenian Ambassador to Ukraine Tigran Seyranyan said on his Facebook page that the flight will be operated by SkyUp airline.
On March 16, the Armenian government declared a 30-day state of emergency in an effort to contain the spread of coronavirus. So far, 136 cases of the infection were confirmed in the country.
The majority of the confirmed coronavirus cases are related to two primary sources of infection with both persons arriving from Italy. According to Health Minister Torosyan, the condition of all patients is satisfactory. The country’s first coronavirus patient, a 29-year-old man evacuated from Iran in late February, was declared recovered earlier this week and discharged from hospital. - 0-
