Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has set today a new price of 180 drams per one cubic meter of drinking water and waste water removal for households.

YEREVAN, November 20. /ARKA/. Armenia's Public Services Regulatory Commission (PSRC) has set today a new price of 180 drams per one cubic meter of drinking water and waste water removal for households. The price includes VAT.
PSRC chairman Garegin Baghramyan said the new price is down from 191.4 drams that has been effective for 2019, however, the households pay 180 drams while the remaining 10 drams are subsidized by the government to mitigate the burden on the population.
Baghramyan told reporters after PSRC meeting that the decision means that the government will not have to subsidize the price of water any longer.
In late November 2018 Armenia’s then Ministry of Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources and Veolia Jur national water distribution company signed an agreement whereby the distributor undertook not to seek a rise in the water price until 2025.
On January 1, 2017, Veolia Jur, a subsidiary of France’s Veolia Generale des Eaux, became the sole water supply and sewerage operator in Armenia. Five companies – Yerevan Jur, Armenian Water Canal, Shirak Water Canal, Lori Water Canal and Nor Akunk – were handed over to it.
