Yerevan Metro director and EDB representatives discussed joint investment projects

YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. During a working visit to Russia, the acting director of Yerevan Metro (subway) Babken Sedrakyan met with the representatives of the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) to discuss a set of issues related to the modernization, technical audit and overhaul of the underground transport facility, the Metro press service reported.
Highlighting the great potential of cooperation with EDB, Sedrakyan also touched upon the new projects, which may be of interest to this international financial organization.
Earlier, EDB Deputy Chairman Denis Ilyin confirmed the Bank's interest in participating in the modernization of the Yerevan Metro.
According to Metro's press service, Sedrakyan also held a meeting with representatives of Transmashholding company to discuss its offers and services ranging from rolling stock design and development to maintenance and implementation of digital traffic control systems.
The Yerevan Metro launched in 1981 runs on a 13.4 kilometer line and currently serves 10 active stations. There are plans to build two more stations.
