The Yerevan Municipality will soon announce a tender  for the purchase of 45 new trains for the Metro (subway).

YEREVAN, August 21. /ARKA/. The Yerevan Municipality will soon announce a tender for the purchase of 45 new trains for the Metro (subway).

The acting director of Yerevan Metro Babken Sedrakyan told a municipality meeting today that all the operating trains of the subway need replacement as they were manufactured in back 1976.

More than 414 thousand passengers used Yerevan subway last week.

The Yerevan Metro launched in 1981 runs on a 13.4 kilometer line and currently serves 10 active stations.  -0-
