Armenia’s export of electricity in the first eight months of 2017 increased by 9.9% from the year before to 955 million kWh, according to the ministry of energy infrastructure and natural resources.

YEREVAN, September 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s export of electricity in the first eight months of 2017 increased by 9.9% from the year before to 955 million kWh, according to the ministry of energy infrastructure and natural resources.

The bulk of export - 805 million kWh - went to the neighboring Iran and a smaller part -116 million kWh-to another neighbor Georgia. The ministry said it expects the export to grow by 20% by the end of the year.

In the first eight months of 2017, 4.1 billion kWh of electricity was used by domestic consumers, by 276 million kWh, or 7.2% more than in the first 8 months of 2016.-0-
