YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Solar power installations worth 30 million drams will be built in Armenian province of Tavush,  the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said on Tuesday.

The ministry said its affiliation -the Armenian Territorial Development Fund -  financed  by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is implementing a local government reform project. Within the framework of the project, among other investments,  solar power installations  worth 30 million drams will be built in the Noyemberyan community.

According to the ministry,  the first solar power installation  with 20 kW capacity has already been built  on the roof of the Noyemberyan House of Culture. It will  generate  about 25 thousand kWh of electricity a year.

“Until September, four more installations are to be installed with a total capacity of 80 kWh. Two of them  will be installed at pumping stations supplying drinking water to the border village of Barekamavan,” the ministry said.

After the successful completion of the project, the  Noyemberyan community will be able to save about 5 million drams per year, the ministry said. ($1 - 484.64 drams). –0--
