Solar power installations worth 30 million drams will be built in Armenian province of Tavush, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said on Tuesday.

YEREVAN, July 29. /ARKA/. Solar power installations worth 30 million drams will be built in Armenian province of Tavush, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure said on Tuesday.
The ministry said its affiliation -the Armenian Territorial Development Fund - financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is implementing a local government reform project. Within the framework of the project, among other investments, solar power installations worth 30 million drams will be built in the Noyemberyan community.
According to the ministry, the first solar power installation with 20 kW capacity has already been built on the roof of the Noyemberyan House of Culture. It will generate about 25 thousand kWh of electricity a year.
“Until September, four more installations are to be installed with a total capacity of 80 kWh. Two of them will be installed at pumping stations supplying drinking water to the border village of Barekamavan,” the ministry said.
After the successful completion of the project, the Noyemberyan community will be able to save about 5 million drams per year, the ministry said. ($1 - 484.64 drams). –0--
