Territories defined for public beaches on the shore of Sevan

Beach territories of the Lake Sevan of about 4 ha selected for public beaches was reviewed by the Vice-Premier, Territorial Administration Minister of Armenia, head of national park board “Sevan” Armen Gevorgyan, Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunya
YEREVAN, April 5. /ARKA/. Beach territories of the Lake Sevan of about 4 ha selected for public beaches was reviewed by the Vice-Premier, Territorial Administration Minister of Armenia, head of national park board “Sevan” Armen Gevorgyan, Nature Protection Minister Aram Harutyunyan and Governor of Gegharkunik region Never Poghosyan on Tuesday.

“For this purpose territories of 1.72 ha near the community Lchashen,  0.68 ha near the city beach Sevan and 1.54 ha in the peninsula are selected. Territories of all these three beaches are 1905 meters under the sea level, that is why building, construction and installation of beach facilities will have temporary character”, says the message of the ministry.

Gevorgyan emphasized the importance of creating necessary conditions in the beaches for the rest of population keeping sanitary and security norms.

Gevorgyan instructed Healtcare Minister Harutyun Kushkyan to discuss the issue of organization of healthcare for population.
He called for undertaking necessary measures for the operation of the beaches in the envisaged terms.

Taking into account that territories  located relatively near to  Yerevan were selected as public beaches, Gevorgyan instructed  to discuss and submit proposals on the opportunity of organization similar beaches also in other  off-shore sections.

According to the agreement, nature protection ministry will submit the cost-estimate of expenses for  the improvement and provision of necessary conditions in the three sections to the government for approval.

The level of Lake Sevan which was 1899.71 meters above the sea level as of December 31, 2010 will be increased to 1903.5 meters by 2029-2030.

Lake Sevan is one of the largest mountainous lakes of Europe and Asia located in the heart of Armenian upland on the height of 1914 meters. It is stretched over 70 km from north-west to south-east . Water mirror  is about 1500 square kilometers.--0--
