UNWTO General Secretary: large international forum of tourism industry to organize in 2012 in Armenia

Large international forum in the sphere of tourism is planned to organise in autumn 2012 in Armenia, said UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai.
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Large international forum in the sphere of tourism is planned to organise in autumn 2012 in Armenia, said UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai after signing a memorandum of understanding with Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan.

This idea was approved by the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Sargsyan .
Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan said that the international forum should be organized on a high level. Leaders of international tourism industry will participate in it.

“It will be a large and unprecedented event and we should get prepared to it properly”, he said.

On Tuesday, UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai and Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan signed memorandum of understanding “On the initiative of tourism development in South Caucasus”.

The main goal of the document is to establish cooperation in the frames of tourism policy and management in South Caucasus. The initiative will help to introduce the best international experience in tourism centers and clusters of South-Caucasian region.

On July 3-6 Rifai met with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan. -0-
