Minister: UNWTO to assist Yerevan in training of tourism specialists and attraction of world brands

Agreement on assistance to Armenia in the training of tourism specialists is obtained in Yerevan during the meeting of UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai and Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan.
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. Agreement on assistance to Armenia in the training of tourism specialists is obtained in Yerevan during the meeting of UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai and Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan. Representatives of tourism sphere were present in the meeting.

“UNWTO is ready to provide practical assistance to Armenia. Specialists and Managers of the sphere will undergo training also in the headquarters of the organization in Madrid”, said Davtyan.

Davtyan and Rifai discussed issues of attraction of famous international brands in Armenia. He reminded that Yerevan is already working with a number of well-known companies in the sphere of hotel management.

“The meeting with the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan and Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan was very important where cooperation directions and the main goals were mentioned. The government approved the submitted programs and proposals”, said Davtyan thanking Rifai for willingness to cooperate with them.

On Tuesday, UN General Secretary of World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Taleb Rifai and Armenian Minister of Economy Tigran Davtyan signed memorandum of understanding “On the initiative of tourism development in South Caucasus”.

The main goal of the document is to establish cooperation in the frames of tourism policy and management in South Caucasus. The initiative will help to introduce the best international experience in tourism centers and clusters of South-Caucasian region.

The meeting with representatives of tourism sphere was organized by the initiative of Rifai. --0--
