YEREVAN, November 9. /ARКА/. Armenia's Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan invited Greek Tourism Minister Olga Kefalianni to visit Armenia and sign a Memorandum of Cooperation in Tourism.

The meeting between the two ministers took place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on the sidelines of the 26th session of the General Assembly of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy reported. Lusine Gevorgyan, Head of the Armenian Tourism Committee, was also present.

"The friendship between Armenia and Greece has deep historical roots, and we highly value the long-term cooperation between our countries. Today, we continue to strengthen these ties through new, practical partnerships, particularly in tourism. Tourism is not only a key driver of economic growth but also a bridge of cultural understanding and friendship between our peoples," Papoyan was quoted as saying.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation in tourism and emphasized the importance of intensifying interaction on international tourism platforms, which will contribute to increasing the visibility of the two countries' tourism destinations and creating new investment opportunities.

Minister Kefalianni gratefully accepted the invitation to visit Armenia. The visit is scheduled for late this year or early next year.-0-
