“Armenia Touristic” magazine, the first Russian-language tour-guide magazine about Armenia, has awarded the leaders in the field on Friday.
YEREVAN, September 22. /ARKA/. “Armenia Touristic” magazine, the first Russian-language tour-guide magazine about Armenia, has awarded the leaders in the field on Friday.
Warm climate, beautiful mountains and lakes, organic food and, most importantly, hardworking and friendly people make tourism develop in Armenia, counselor of the Russian embassy to Armenia Andrey Ivanov said at the awarding ceremony.
Ivanov said he is confident Armenia’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union will give a renewed impetus to tourism development in the country.
The Russian embassy in Armenia has been actively involved in development of tourism in the country over the last years, he said.
The nominations and the winners are: the best tour operator of the year on outgoing tourism – Sputnik company, the best tour operator in incoming tourism – Armenia Travel, the best hotel – Tufenkyan, the best health resort – Jermuk Armenia, the best restaurant – Yerevan Pandok.
Mr Gaspar Yeritsyan has won in ‘best tour guide’ nomination and Yerevan Scope has been acknowledged as the year’s best guidebook.
According to the magazine, the “Wings of Tatev” charity project was the best tour project during the year and Dilijan was the best resort destination.
The winning archeology group was the one engaged in excavations in Tigranakert. Teghut NGO was considered as the year’s best environmental project.
Extreme tourism award was given to Gardman Tour company.
Wine festival in Areni was declared the best project to preserve national traditions
Imperial Palace and Yerevan Travel won as ‘the best dynamically developing companies’.
The winners received bronze statuettes by Margarita Matulyan and diplomas and prizes from partners of “Armenia Touristic”. Then initiators have promised the awarding ceremony will become an annual event to help boost development of tourism in Armenia. –0--
