Armenia expands the list of persons involved in microbusinesses

Armenia's National Assembly has adopted today in the first reading a set of amendments to the Tax Code, which expand the list of individuals, who are regarded to be engaged in microbusiness.
YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. Armenia's National Assembly has adopted today in the first reading a set of amendments to the Tax Code, which expand the list of individuals, who are regarded to be engaged in microbusiness.
According to MP Mikael Melkumyan from the opposition Prosperous Armenia party, who authored the proposed changes, persons who are not registered as individual entrepreneurs now, but are engaged in various types of microbusiness are out of sight of the state and tax authorities.
According to him, most of them are hired workers with daily paid wages, and because of this omission during the coronavirus pandemic, the government was unable to provide appropriate assistance to them. In addition, these persons do not make pension contributions, and their work years s are not counted as seniority. He said the passage of these amendments will allow to solve these problems.
These persons are people who repair apartments, install internal water supply, drainage and heating systems, make and repair keys, including electronic ones, people who provide manicure and hairdressing services, electricians, people who repair and restore musical instruments, house cleaners, babysitters and adult caregivers. --0--
