Armenia will enforce stricter control over gambling business
YEREVAN, January 11. /ARKA/. The Armenian government at a meeting on Thursday approved the introduction of an electronic system to regulate the gambling business and ensure its transparency.
Head of the State Revenue Committee Rustam Badasyan said that all gambling companies will have to have certified online platforms, software and slot machines. Compliance with the certification requirements will be checked by the operator, which, in turn, will be selected by the government in a tender. All gaming systems must be connected to a monitoring center.
Another proposed change will allow the operator to monitor the fulfillment of the requirement to ensure a certain percentage of winnings, namely: it is specified that 90% of the money received as a result of the games must be returned to the players in one way or another.
Badasyan clarified that this does not mean that 90% of the money received must be returned every day, and there are different methods of implementing this rule.
In addition, there will be restrictions on participation in winning games. For example, people under the age of 21 will not be able to play in winning games. Also, people participating in subsidy or co-subsidy programs, as well as beneficiaries of programs for low-income families, will not be able to play.
Also, the changes introduce a ban on organizing participation in win games that are held in other countries.-0-
