Company fined 38 million drams for illegal sale of pesticides
YEREVAN, December 20. /ARKA/. An unidentified Armenian company was fined over 38 million drams for selling more than 33 tons of pesticides that were under customs control and their sale was prohibited, the press service of the State Revenue Committee (SRC) reported.
The illegal sale of pesticides was discovered by SRC employees while conducting supervisory activities in a company engaged in importing pesticides.
According to the SRC, out of 6,730 boxes of pesticides with a total weight of 83.6 tons imported by the company into Armenia, only 3,417 boxes were actually available at the customs control area, while the remaining 3,313 boxes of pesticides with a total weight of 33.1 tons were sold without the permission of customs authorities.
The company must pay the fine after criminal proceedings were initiated under two articles of the Customs Regulation Law. ($1 - 405.81 drams).
