YEREVAN, October 30. /ARKA/. A $2.5bln credit line may be opened for foreign buyers of Sukhoi SuperJet 100, Russian Premier Dmitry Medvedev said at the meeting of Vnesheconombank’s Supervisory Board. The decision is expected to be made today.

An addressed and individual approach should be applied for each deal not only to increase the number of the jets on the market, but also to take advantage of WTO membership tools, he said. The Premier urged to promote Russian airbuses on the world market.

In the beginning of October 2012, Russian Deputy Minister of Transport Valery Okulov said at VIII annual Russian major business forum “Expert 400” that there is no need to promote local air companies to buy Russian aircrafts, rbc.ru reported. Sukhoi SuperJet 100 has been competitive in its row, Okulov said adding that no administrative pressure was placed on Aeroflot to sign a contract for Sukhoi SuperJet 100.

According to Deputy Minister’s assessment, the Russian market demands will be from 190 to 200 jets of similar capacity by 2020.

Production of some 200-250 aircrafts will be enough for the pay-back. But to fully implement the project, 800 jets should be manufactured during 15 years. The share of aircrafts of similar capacity will be 50%, Okulov said.

Sukhoi SuperJet 100 is a new generation regional aircraft produced by “Sukhoi Civil Aircraft” cjsc, together with Alenia Aeronautica. Sukhoi SuperJet 100 family is designed for flight range of up to 4,400 kilometers, consists of two aircrafts, RRJ-75В and RRJ-95B modifications, and is to replace Tu-134, Yak-42 and other outdated regional airplanes.  --0--
