Grapes and apricots safe: Armenia adopts program of subsidizing agro-insurance

YEREVAN, March 13. /ARKA/. The Armenian government at a session on Thursday adopted a decision introducing a system of subsidizing agro-insurance for 13 types of crops against four types of risks - spring frost, drought, hail and fire
These crops are grapes, apricots, peaches, potatoes, plums, apples, cherries, cherries, watermelons, melons, wheat, oats, barley.
Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan said the government undertakes to subsidize 70-80% of farmers' insurance payments.
Besides, if the damage of insurance companies exceeds 200%, the government will compensate the part of the damage exceeding the threshold.
According to the Minister, for some crops, not the entire list of services from the insurance policy will be available. In particular, for grain, barley and oats only drought insurance will be available.
The partners of the program are three insurance companies - Ingo Armenia, Liga Insurance and Sil Insurance. -0-
