YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Sergey Avanesov, head of the Armenian-Chinese Relations Regional Development Fund, stated that China is interested in establishing manufacturing facilities in Armenia and is ready to finance joint projects.

The Armenian Trading House has already reached agreements with large Chinese retail chains that will purchase imported goods and distribute them throughout the country. "We need a stable banking partner, so we are negotiating to establish insurance and leasing companies with the bank's support," Avanesov noted in an interview with Armenpress.

According to him, for example, one Chinese leasing company is ready to offer leasing at a 5% interest rate.

"Today, a global task is being addressed, as the Chinese side wants to establish manufacturing facilities in Armenia. "The Chinese, in turn, are interested in entering the Armenian market by establishing mutually beneficial production facilities," Avanesov said.

According to him, unfortunately, serious feasibility studies have not yet been conducted.

He stated that the Armenian Trading House is also considering the possibility of exporting Armenian fish and canning it in China, as this industry is also well developed there.

"We have another base located in Hainan. We can ship wholesale quantities of goods there and package them locally. We will also soon open an ice cream factory in Hainan," Avanesov noted.

According to him, the Chinese side is providing a fairly favorable loan at 1% per annum for equipment worth $15 million.

"We know the rules of the game, so we can clearly explain all the details to our partners and guide them. Many Armenian banks do not have branches abroad, while the time has long been ripe to enter the international arena. "Today, we need a partner bank that Chinese banks will provide funds to for targeted purchases of Armenian goods. This is the ideal option, as it will create a fully functional and efficient supply chain," Avanesov said.
