YEREVAN, August 24. /ARKA/. The railway is the property of the Republic of Armenia and is merely managed by Russian Railways, stated Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

"We have no problem with this. We have great respect for the Russian Federation and its interests, but because the Armenian railway is under Russian management, we now face the risk of missing a historic opportunity to integrate Armenia into the international railway network," Pashinyan noted at a session of the National Assembly of Armenia on Monday during a discussion of the government's program for 2026-2031, approved on August 20.

He added, "We cannot afford to miss this historic opportunity."

"We ask our Russian partners to show flexibility and sell the concession rights to a third country acceptable to both Armenia and Russia," Pashinyan said.
