A unique greenhouse complex opened in Armenia

A unique greenhouse complex for tomato cultivation, equipped with artificial intelligence, robotics, and the latest technologies, has officially opened in the village of Nor Yedesia in the Aragatsotn region, according to the press service of Acba Bank.
YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. A unique greenhouse complex for tomato cultivation, equipped with artificial intelligence, robotics, and the latest technologies, has officially opened in the village of Nor Yedesia in the Aragatsotn region, according to the press service of Acba Bank.
The complex's smart system scans the entire greenhouse, collecting and analyzing data on the quantity and maturity of tomatoes, plant health, and even the presence of pests.
In this state-of-the-art greenhouse, tomatoes are grown in a clean coconut fiber environment: all necessary nutrients are supplied to the plants via a drip irrigation system.
Currently, the greenhouse produces approximately 18-20 tons of tomatoes daily, which are exported to various countries worldwide, including Latvia, Bulgaria, Romania, the United Arab Emirates, and others. In the near future, production volume is planned to increase to approximately 40 tons per day.
"There were many questions during the financing of this project, but trust played a major role, and we confidently moved forward with the project. The project that is now complete and that we see today was initially just an idea on paper: now we have reason to be proud that we financed such a great project. In these difficult times, we must not lose optimism; we must move forward and view every crisis as a new opportunity," noted Akob Andreasyan, CEO of Acba Bank.
"The processes in this greenhouse are controlled by artificial intelligence, and we also have a monitoring robot that scans the entire greenhouse and plants. We can now see how many kilograms of tomatoes we have, their ripeness, whether there are any diseased plants, and the robot even helps us understand what insects are present. Acba Bank and Acba Leasing have played a very significant role in the overall development of our business. "Our greenhouse was fully financed through Acba Bank, and in collaboration with Acba Leasing, we equipped the greenhouse complex with various equipment," notes Hayk Hunanyan, founder and director of Agro Prom.
Next to the existing greenhouse, also on a 10-hectare site, construction has begun on a new greenhouse complex. Plans also include building a production facility to produce the necessary packaging.
The bank is controlled by the Central Bank of the Republic of Armenia.
