YEREVAN, August 27. /ARKA/. At a meeting on Thursday, the Armenian government approved a decision to allocate 1.3 billion drams for events dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the republic's independence.
Specifically, events to celebrate the 35th anniversary of Armenia's independence will begin on September 17 in Ijevan, followed by Vanadzor on September 18, Kapan on the 19th, and Gyumri on the 20th. Major concerts of various genres are planned.
The series of anniversary events will culminate on September 21 with a concert in Republic Square in Yerevan.
The concert will feature renowned Armenian performers and musical groups, the State Symphony Orchestra of Armenia, and the Hovhannes Chekijyan National Academic Choir. The participants include Tata Simonyan, Arman Hovhannisyan, Iveta Mukuchyan, Liparit Avetisyan, Gevorg Hakobyan, Aram MP3, and the Karen-Sevak Band.
The concert at Republic Square is expected to attract approximately 40,000 spectators. It is also noted that the events are aimed at promoting the achievements of independent Armenia, strengthening national identity and civic responsibility, and developing cultural life in Yerevan and the regions.
