Locomotive and rolling stock efficiency improved at South Caucasus Railway

South Caucasus Railway improved efficiency of its freight wagons and locomotive fleet significantly in January-February 2013, the company’s press service reported.

YEREVAN, March 27. /ARKA/. South Caucasus Railway improved efficiency of its freight wagons and locomotive fleet significantly in January-February 2013, the company’s press service reported.
Freight car cycle time is accelerated by 1.3 days or 48.1% as compared to the 2012 level, according to the report. Average cycle time is 2.7days.
Average daily capacity is 5,618ton-kilometers net per rail car, an improvement of 47.1% against January-February 2012.
Locomotive efficiency has also improved. In particular, average locomotive mileage is 367.9 loc-km, an increase of 9.9% against January-February 2012.
The achievements were made owing to better infrastructure and traction-rolling stock maintenance based on complex safety measures, according to the report.
The South Caucasus Railway cjsc is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways open joint stock company that is operating Armenian railways under a 30-year concession contract signed in 2008. -0-
