Russian Ikar airline planning to launch regular flights between Crimea and Yerevan

Russian Ikar Airlines LLC, operating as Pegas Fly, is planning to launch regular flights between Simferopol, the capital of Crimea and Armenia's capital Yerevan, Russian RIA Novosti news agency said.
YEREVAN, January 10. /ARKA/. Russian Ikar Airlines LLC, operating as Pegas Fly, is planning to launch regular flights between Simferopol, the capital of Crimea and Armenia's capital Yerevan, Russian RIA Novosti news agency said. According to it, the maiden flight is scheduled for March.
RIA Novosti quoted Alexei Chernyak, the head of a Crimean parliament committee on tourism, resorts and sports, as saying that Ikar Airlines has already received the permission and approval of the Federal Air Transport Agency for regular flights and was negotiating the schedule and other related issues with airports. He said also that the airline will be operating two flights a week.
According to him, the air route between Simferopol and Yerevan will be the first regular international flight from Crimea after its reunification with Russia. He said the opening of regular flights between Crimea and Armenia is supposed to strengthen the international status of Simferopol Airport.
The Russian airline was founded in 1993. It is headquartered in the Siberian Krasnoyarsk and based at Yemelyanovo international airport, but operates most flights from Zhukovsky international airport in the Moscow region. -0-
