YEREVAN, 14 January. /ARKA/. In 2024, administrative penalties to the tune of 182 million drams were imposed in Armenia, and operation of 130 business entities were suspended, according to Armen Danielyan, head of the Food Safety Inspectorate.

‘Last year during inspections at about 4000 business entities, violations were recorded in 1,100 of them. Some 121 million drams (66 per cent of the total) have already been paid to the budget,’ Danielyan noted at a press conference on Tuesday.

According to him, the operation of 130 economic entities was suspended, 64 of which eliminated the violations following the inspections and were given an opportunity to continue their activities.

‘In particular, violations were registered at public catering facilities, which related to the mandatory medical examination of employees and compliance with sanitary norms,’ Danielyan said.

He also said that 13 cases of food poisoning among 44 people were recorded in Armenia last year.

‘Fortunately, no fatal cases were registered,’ Danielyan noted. -0--
