The Upper Lars customs checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border will work with temporary restrictions from September 18 to 24, Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) said citing a Russian government agency in charge of roads.

YEREVAN, September 18. /ARKA/. The Upper Lars customs checkpoint on the Georgian-Russian border will work with temporary restrictions from September 18 to 24, Armenia's State Revenue Committee (SRC) said citing a Russian government agency in charge of roads.

According to SRC, in connection with the asphalting of the lanes at the checkpoint, reverse traffic will be organized on the lanes for trucks towards Russia, as well as towards Georgia. The SRC warned that this may lead to congestion of truck traffic.

The only land route linking Armenia and Russia runs through the Upper Lars crossing on the Russian-Georgian border. It is often closed due to bad weather conditions - landslides, rain mudslides and snow drifts. -0-
