Wildberries posts 98% surge in gross merchandise value for 2022 to over $22 bln
YEREVAN, February 15. /ARKA/. Gross merchandise value (GMV) of Wildberries, soared by 98% in 2022 compared with 2021 to 1.669 trillion rubles ($22.6 bln), Russia’s largest online retailer reported on Wednesday, according to Tass.
This accounts for one third of the country’s total online trade turnover last year, which equaled 4.98 trillion rubles ($67.4 bln), according to the Association of Internet Commerce Companies (AKIT).
"In 2022, the number of orders reached 1.5 bln (+88% year-on-year). Gross merchandise value (GMV) climbed by 98% to 1.669 trillion rubles," Wildberries said. Q4 GMV surged by 103% year-on-year to 619.5 bln rubles ($8.4 bln), the company added.
The Association of Internet Commerce Companies said earlier that Russia’s online trade turnover increased by almost 30% in 2022 compared with 2021 to 4.98 trillion rubles ($67.4 bln).
Wildberries has been operating on the market since 2004. Its presence geography covers all Russian regions, as well as a number of other countries, including Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. -0-
