YEREVAN, May 22. /ARKA/. Rospotrebnadzor has completely suspended the import and circulation of all batches of "Jermuk" mineral water from Armenia in Russia.

"Effective May 22, 2026, Rospotrebnadzor has introduced a temporary sanitary measure to suspend the import and circulation of the following food product in the Russian Federation: "Jermuk Natural Medicinal Table Carbonated Drinking Water, manufactured by Jermuk Group CJSC," the statement reads.

The agency explained that the product does not correspond to the information provided on the label, which is a violation of the requirements of Section 3, Clause 10, of EAEU TR 044/2017 "On the Safety of Packaged Drinking Water, Including Natural Mineral Water." Excessive levels of bicarbonate (an ion), chlorides, and sulfates were detected in the water. Misrepresentation of the medicinal properties of products can lead to ineffective treatment and deterioration of health, according to Rospotrebnadzor.

The agency has sent corresponding notifications to the Eurasian Economic Commission and authorized bodies of the Eurasian Economic Union member states.

Earlier, it was reported that Rosselkhoznadzor had restricted the import of plant and animal products from Armenia (in particular, flowers and fish) into the Russian Federation, as well as complaints about Armenian fruits and vegetables.

At the invitation of the Food Safety Inspectorate of Armenia, a delegation from Rosselkhoznadzor arrived in the republic to conduct joint inspections.
