No abnormalities were detected in drinking water samples in Byureghavan after cases of intestinal infection

In the studied drinking water samples taken in the city of Byureghavan, Kotayk region of Armenia, after residents complained of symptoms of intestinal infection, no discrepancies with the established indicators were found, reports the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
YEREVAN, September 10. /ARKA/. In the studied drinking water samples taken in the city of Byureghavan, Kotayk region of Armenia, after residents complained of symptoms of intestinal infection, no discrepancies with the established indicators were found, reports the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia.
On the evening of September 6, residents of Byureghavan sought medical help with complaints characteristic of an intestinal infection. On the morning of September 7, the center’s specialists began taking samples of drinking water and biological samples from patients for laboratory research.
According to the department, 16 drinking water samples and 25 biological samples were taken in the first half of the day, and another 19 water samples were taken in the evening of the same day.
“No inconsistencies have been identified in all drinking water samples examined to date. Infectious disease agents were also not found in 25 biological samples,” the report says.
The epidemiological investigation is ongoing. To monitor the situation, sampling will be carried out on a regular basis.
The National Center notes that the situation is under control, additional information will be provided if necessary.
Cases of intestinal infection in Byureghavan on September 6 were reported for the third time since the beginning of 2026. Previously, similar cases were noted in April and July.
