At its meeting on Tuesday, the Armenian Parliamentary Commission on Regional and Eurasian Integration approved the ratification of the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia in the first reading.
YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. At its meeting on Tuesday, the Armenian Parliamentary Commission on Regional and Eurasian Integration approved the ratification of the free trade agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia in the first reading.
The agreement, signed on December 21, 2025, in St. Petersburg, aims to liberalize and simplify trade in goods between the parties, including by reducing tariff and non-tariff barriers, and to create favorable conditions for economic and trade cooperation.
The document regulates a wide range of economic cooperation issues related to simplification and stimulation of mutual trade, protection of the domestic market, customs regulation, and sanitary and phytosanitary measures.
An integral part of the agreement are the attached lists, reflecting the parties' willingness to provide tariff preferences for specific types of goods.
Regarding agricultural products, the Armenian side's proposals primarily include goods of primary export interest to the Republic of Armenia. Specifically, these include mineral waters (current customs duty of 5%, 0% after the agreement enters into force), canned fruits and vegetables (current duty of 20%, 0% after the agreement enters into force), fruit juices (current duty of 5%, 0% after the agreement enters into force), jams (current duty of 5%, to be reduced by 50% after the agreement enters into force), and other goods.
Industrial goods were also selected based on this principle. The list includes copper products (current customs duty is 5%, after the agreement comes into force - 0% or a reduction to 0% within three years), medicines (current duty is 5%, after the agreement comes into force - 0% or a reduction for certain goods in this group to 0% within 3-15 years), jewelry (current duty is 15%, for certain goods in this group a reduction to 0% within 5-15 years is provided) and other goods.
