On Monday, during a meeting with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan proposed creating a mechanism for Armenian companies to enter the UAE market.
YEREVAN, September 8. /ARKA/. On Monday, during a meeting with UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Armenian Economy Minister Gevorg Papoyan proposed creating a mechanism for Armenian companies to enter the UAE market.
According to the press service of the Armenian Ministry of Economy, during the meeting, held as part of the 15th annual investment forum in Dubai, in the context of diversifying the geography of exports, particular attention was given to simplifying the process for Armenian exporters to enter the UAE market.
Papoyan proposed creating a mechanism for practical cooperation with relevant UAE authorities, which would allow Armenian companies to better understand market requirements, current standards, and certification procedures.
The Armenian Minister of Economy also proposed organizing visits for UAE business representatives to Armenia to learn about production capabilities, conduct B2B meetings, and move from pilot deliveries to long-term contracts.
The parties discussed a number of issues related to expanding trade and economic cooperation between Armenia and the UAE, as well as developing new opportunities.
Earlier, the RA Food Safety Inspectorate reported that 60 tons of fish and fish products were exported from Armenia to the UAE.
Restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to the Russian Federation
Armenia is expanding its export geography amid Russia's restrictions on the supply of certain Armenian products. The Russian side attributes these measures to violations of phytosanitary requirements.
Since May of this year, restrictions have been imposed on flowers, mineral water, certain beverages and alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, and later on, live fish and fish products, as well as dairy products.
The restrictive measures also apply to the transit of products of Armenian origin through the Russian Federation to other EAEU countries.
