"Our products, which we present in international markets, must be of high quality and high quality, not only because they meet or do not meet certain requirements, but also because we have chosen a policy of having high added value," Gasparyan noted at a briefing on Tuesday.
According to him, this means that Armenia's economic growth must be intensive. "In this regard, improving quality and standards, as well as implementing higher standards, will always be a priority for us," Gasparyan added.
Responding to a question about export volumes to the European Union, the Deputy Minister stated that the government's chosen path of diversification is a path to long-term sustainability, and its results must be assessed over the long term.
Restrictions on the supply of Armenian products to Russia
Armenia is expanding its export geography amid restrictions imposed by Russia on the supply of certain types of Armenian products. The Russian side attributes these measures to violations of phytosanitary requirements.
Since May of this year, restrictions have been imposed on flowers, mineral water, certain types of beverages and alcoholic beverages, vegetables, fruits, berries, grapes, potatoes, dried fruits, and later on, live fish and fish products, as well as dairy products.
The restrictive measures also apply to the transit of products of Armenian origin through Russia to other EAEU countries.
