YEREVAN, October 13. /ARKA/. The financial support program providing 40,000 plus 10,000 drams to persons displaced from Karabakh has been extended for another year, announced Arsen Torosyan, Armenia's Minister of Labor and Social Affairs.
"We have support programs—40,000 drams and 10,000 drams per family—that target a very specific group of beneficiaries. We have decided to extend this support program for another year. It was originally scheduled to end at the close of this year," Torosyan stated at a briefing on Tuesday.
According to him, eligibility for the "40+10 thousand" program is determined based on per capita income.
"In other words, if income exceeds the established threshold, a person cannot be considered a beneficiary. If income is below that threshold, they may qualify for the support," Torosyan noted.
The monthly financial assistance consists of 40,000 drams for housing rent plus 10,000 drams for utility expenses.
In June 2026, Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Khachatryan reported that 45.7 billion drams had actually been allocated from the state budget in 2025 to support compatriots displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh, with a total of approximately 146 billion drams allocated since 2023. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan had also previously stated that the government plans to allocate approximately 800 billion drams to implement a housing program for those displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh.
